2026 Taiji Mini Cakes · Raw Pu-erh
Duoyi Village, Nannuo Mountain · Spring 2026
Duoyi is the highest village on Nannuo Mountain. Wrapped in mist and cloud for most of the year, its tea gardens are small and pristine, and production is correspondingly limited.
Pressed into mini cakes from this spring’s harvest, the tea opens with an elegant orchid fragrance and a honeyed sweetness. The liquor is thick and full-bodied, given a silky texture by its natural pectin, and grows more complex with each infusion: notes of wild mushroom emerge, followed by a gentle peppery spice.
The finish is long, and the cha qi (tea energy) is deep and lingering. Wild, powerful and refined at once, this is a tea of real depth, one that we believe stands comparison with the celebrated Lao Banzhang teas of earlier years.
Tasting notes shared by Tony Chen of Sanhetang, 18 October 2026.
