"Another crazy time of year.
Every year when the tea factory piles up the different bags of single-tree maocha to create Risking Death to Pursue, our single-tree composition, everyone is most excited. This is because every bag of single-tree material has its own beauty, and the workers treat them as if they are picking a future bride. “Oh, this batch is lovely, wow, this one is even better,” the ladies chatted amongst themselves as they unfolded the individual bags.
We began to produce these single-tree compositions in 2010, and each year’s batch is unique with its own terrior and produced amount. The farmers climb up and pick the biggest trees and process them to make single batches for us to blend. There is no specific blending formula but only its unique composition. I dare not say that they are the best, but made possible through a leap of faith despite its risks.
Single-tree productions have become more popular within the tea circle and although we cannot label single-tree puerhs as best, we are aware that they can be incredible and offer a unique experience of flavours and terrior. But if we become too attached to these concepts, it could ruin what's most important - its enjoyment.
Xizihao’s Risking Death to Pursue was made purely for enjoyment, as it turned out teas can be such fun. Everyone will have their own opinions and experience with this 100 kg of single-tree materials, and tasting will bring the most enjoyment."
